Spring season of tourism in Kashmir valley is already witnessing a good and healthy tourist footfall in this month of February. In the current season, the stakeholders of tourism have a lot of hopes to come out from their debt trap and also to earn for their families from this season as the tourism has shown no health in the past several years.

Tourism suffered lot of reverses in the past several years and the final nail in its coffin was the August 4, 2019 government notification asking the tourists to leave Jammu and Kashmir within 24 hours,

It resulted in a lot of unpleasant experiences for the tourists who were staying here as they were taken in police vehicles to the airport and it resulted in huge cancellations of bookings for Kashmir by the tourists and tourism since then never picked again in Jammu and Kashmir.

The current month is showing a lot of good signs for the tourism industry in Jammu and Kashmir including in the Jammu region. Recently Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha interacting with visiting tourists assured them of all the government support and appealed to them to become goodwill ambassadors for the tourist industry of Jammu and Kashmir.

While assuring the tourists a safe and pleasant visit to the UT of Jammu and Kashmir, the Lt Governor observed that the Tourism department, local community, and other stakeholders are collectively providing a tourist friendly environment to facilitate the visit of the tourists coming to J&K.

From eco-tourism to winter sports, from pilgrimage to adventure tourism, J&K offers a host of attractions to tourists to experience the scenic beauty, warm hospitality, rich culture and heritage of J&K and make their visit to the UT a memorable one, added the Lt Governor.
