Farooq Abdullah receives first Covid shot at SKIMS

In order to instill confidence among the people to go for the vaccination against the covid-19 virus, on Tuesday former chief minister and sitting member of parliament Dr Farooq Abdullah got his first shot of Covid-19 Vaccine at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences, Soura in Srinagar.

Reports said that Farooq Abdullah was accompanied by his wife to the SKIMS and he was given the first dose of the vaccine by the paramedical staff of the institute.

It was Omar Abdullah who confirmed the covid vaccination of his father by a tweet on Tuesday. In his tweet Omar said, “Thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at SKIMS, Srinagar. Today my 85 year old father & my mother had their first COVID jab. My father has a number of health issues including being on immunosuppressants for a kidney transplant. If he can get the vaccine, you should as well.”

Earlier, on Monday, the second phase of Covid-19 vaccination was started across the country for people above 60 years of age and above 45 years of age with underlying conditions.

It is in place to mention that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the first person to take Covid-19 jab during the second phase of vaccination drive across the country on Monday.
