The Government of India is very keen to see the tourism industry growing in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir especially in the current scenario.

Recently Union Tourism Secretary said sustainable tourism is the only way of expanding the sector and bringing expected change in the industry in Jammu and Kashmir so that thousands of families who are connected with this trade get some respite.

The central government is very keen to turn the tourism sector into a huge avenue of employment in Jammu and Kashmir and have decided to make its growth possible.

The Government of India feels that sustainable tourism is the only way of expanding this sector and bringing expected change in J-K Tourism.

The Union Tourism secretary said that as the vaccination programme will be completed in the country, the flow of tourists to Gulmarg and the entire Kashmir valley will increase manifold, besides the travel restrictions on foreign tourists will also be subsequently relaxed.

The central government is coming up with different schemes with its own funding for the up gradation of tourism infrastructure in Kashmir valley especially in Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg.

Similarly the government is keeping its focus on the adventure tourism in Jammu and Kashmir especially in Gulmarg and they feel that it can attract not only the domestic tourists but also international tourists to Kashmir valley.
