Farooq challenges ED for attaching his properties

National Conference president and sitting MP from Srinagar Farooq Abdullah has challenged the decision of Enforcement Directorate order attaching his residential and commercial properties worth nearly Rs 12 crore in connection with JKCA scam.

According to the reports the decision of the Enforcement Directorate has been challenged in JK High Court and it is to be seen how the court will proceed in this matter.

It is in place to mention that in December last the ED attached the properties worth Rs 11.86 crore in Kashmir and in Jammu, alleging that they were the proceeds of crime in a scam related to the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association when it was being headed by Farooq Abdullah.

In the challenge before the high court, Farooq Abdullah in his petition has said that properties attached by the ED were either ancestral or acquired before the alleged offence took place.
