While the Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the floor of the house has not given any timeline for the restoration of statehood most of the political parties in Jammu and Kashmir instead have been demanding restoration of article 370.

However JK Apni Party which is being blamed by its political opponents to be close to centre and BJP, has recently said that the priority of his party was restoration of statehood and holding of Assembly elections in the union territory as only the country’s Parliament or the Supreme Court could restore Articles 370 and 35-A of the Constitution.

He has been saying to the media that he is not a dream merchant and he only talks about the realities and does not believe in emotional black mail of common people.

He said that restoration of statehood was possible and was within the reach of the central government and they could do it whenever they want so we are demanding statehood and early assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

PDP chief and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti has been advocating only for the joint fight on the political front for the restoration of article 370 and for this purpose she has already joined hands with many political parties including National Conference for this restoration.

She has already said that she is not in the race of being a chief minister and said that her main goal was for the joint fight and a united struggle by the people of Jammu and Kashmir for the restoration of dignity and honor.
