Agriculture department organizes Kissan Mela at Panchayat Dhalpar

UDHAMPUR, MARCH, 16: Agriculture Department Udhampur today organized a one day Kissan Mela cum awareness camp under Soil Health card component of NMSA 2020-21 here at Panchayat Dhalpar of .

Chief Agriculture Officer, Subash Sharma was the chief guest, who inaugurated the Mela, while District Agriculture Officer Alok Pandotra presided over the programme.

While addressing the camp, the chief guest appealed the farmers to avail maximum benefits of all the departmental schemes. He stressed on to improve the soil health condition by using the optimum dose of fertilizers recommended by the Department. He further stressed on the development of the Jeevika clusters, which promote organic farming and water conservation. During the camp, Drip Irrigation technique was also discussed and demonstrated by the experts of Agriculture department.

Later, the chief guest distributed soil health cards, KCC and vermi compost kits among all the farmers on the occasion.

The camp was attended by District Level Subject Matter Specialist, S. Sukhbir Singh; Assistant Soil Chemist, Rajinder Kumar Pandoh; Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer, Rajesh Gandotra; AEO Zone, Bradian, Shiv Parshotam Jyoti; Branch Manager, J&K Bank Jahnu, Vinod Gupta; besides  Sarpanchs, Panchs and AEA’s and the progressives farmers.
