Students test positive in Budgam district, parents show concern

Parents have been alarming in district Budgam as some students tested positive for Covid-19 as the authorities have opened all the schools and educational institutions in Jammu and Kashmir.

Due to the fresh surge in the Covid-19 cases, Srinagar district authorities have already given strict instructions for the adherence of Sop’s for the Covid-19 infection and have decided to fine the people who are without masks on the streets of Srinagar.

Police have been asking the people in Srinagar city to wear the mask and maintain distance and have even fined many people who were not wearing the mask.

According to news agency KNO at least nine students tested positive for COVID-19 at Government Higher Secondary School in Hardapanzoo area of Khansahib in Budgam district, officials said on Tuesday.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that “Nine COVID-19 positive cases have been detected from this schools in mass/random sampling, testing for all the contacts will be undertaken in due course of time.”

He said that all the primary and secondary contacts of the affected students have been advised to self-isolate, quarantine themselves.
