Government of Jammu and Kashmir have issued fresh instructions to the traders and transporters in Jammu and Kashmir sothat in the second wave of covid-19 they do not become the contributors.

In this direction government said that they will allow the shops and market to open on rotational basis and have also imposed night curfew in all the districts in order to arrest the trend of covid-19.

The cooperation of people is must for the government efforts to succeed on the ground and transporters of Jammu have responded by a strike call.

The government has earlier told public transporters to keep on 50% seat occupancy in their vehicles, in order to maintain the social distance which is must in the present circumstances.

The transporters argue that they will have to enhance the fares otherwise they would be running their vehicles on loss. Similarly J&K government recently announced that only 50 per cent of shops in Market complexes / Bazaars / Malls within the Municipal limits / urban local body limits shall be open on an alternate basis through a rotation system.

The traders have said that the government has not taken them into confidence before making such decisions. The traders have said that the government should also announce relaxation in GST, EMIs, Income Tax for the businessmen as they have suffered a lot due to lockdowns since August 2019.
