Identification of vulnerable

The government of Jammu and Kashmir has started identifying high risk and vulnerable groups of population who immediately need vaccination and it will also flatten the curve of infection.

In this direction on the instruction of Chief Secretary each district of Jammu and Kashmir for the vaccination in the age group of 18-45 has identified higher risk and vulnerable groups.

According to the government communication it includes shopkeepers /dhabawallas, hotel waiters & staff/thelawallas; services sector people engaged in door-to-door work (barbers, repairmen etc); drivers/ conductors; lawyers; journalists; faculty /staff/workers of the universities/colleges; Government employees on COVID duty/or in active field offices- viz employees of PHE, PDD etc.; construction workers registered with Construction Workers Board; tourism sector workers; people with disabilities (PwD); widows/single mothers; orphans; and persons with comorbid conditions.

The government has given direction to the concerned officials to first vaccinate these groups so that the spread of infection is stopped further to enter into such groups.

Deputy Commissioners in each district have started the process of identifying such groups and they have been given a timeline of one month by the government to complete the process.
