Train services to remain suspended in Kashmir till June 09

While life has been eased partially by the authorities in Jammu and Kashmir after the one month long covid curfew, the restrictions on the train services from Baramulla to Banihal will remain in force till June 09.

Public transport has been allowed to ply in the orange zone districts of Kashmir valley with only 50% of capacity  while train services have not been allowed as earlier there used to be a lot of rush and no social distancing while the people travelled by train to different areas of Kashmir valley.

According to the news agency KNO while reporting about the railway services has said that the authorities on Monday extended the suspension of train services between Baramulla and Banihal section till 9 June in view of the Covid-19 situation.

In an order, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the authorities said that the cancellation of train service between Baramulla and Banihal has been extended till 9 June.

“The UT of Jammu and Kashmir has extended the cancellation of train service in J-K from Baramulla to Banihal section and vice-versa up to 09-06-2021. All concerned note and act accordingly,” reads the order.
