Director Law Enforcement J&K launches valley wide inspection drive

SRINAGAR, JUNE 17: The Director Law Enforcement J&K(UT), Dr. Bal Krishan Chandan  launched a valley wide inspection drive to monitor the quality and distribution of Agricultural inputs  among the farming community.

The Director initiated the move from District Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama and Shopian. He visited various Pesticides/ Fertilizer/ Seeds dealers and on spot direction was issued to the concerned Inspectors to initiate action against the dealers violating the Acts.

During the inspection of the dealers in district Kulgam, 1438 Kgs of Pesticides were sale stopped and necessary instructions were issued for immediate sampling of the same pesticide. While as during the inspection at Kakpora district Pulwama banned Pesticides was found and concerned inspector was directed to initiate the action as per the provisions of law against the dealer.

Dr Chandan directed the Enforcement Agency to intensify the inspections in the coming days and stressed for random sampling of the Insecticides/ Fertilizer/ Seeds to check the quality of Agricultural inputs.

Assistant Director Law Enforcement Lalmandi Srinagar Sheikh Imran, District Law Enforcement Officer Anantnag / Pulwama Gulzar Ahmad Shergujri and concerned Inspectors accompanied the Director.
