Director SHD inspects sheep rearing units in Akhnoor

 JAMMU, JUNE 17: Director, Sheep Husbandry Department, Jammu, Krishan Lal today inspected Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Office here at Akhnoor.

 During the inspection, the Director took stock of the working of the office and asked to work with more dedication for achieving the targets for the benefit of people. He also distributed polypropylene sheets among the needy breeders of Block Akhnoor and inspected the Ewes/Does units of  Mangal Dass at Nai Basti Sugal Akhnoor,  Pawan Kumar at Chak Raja Sungal Akhnoor, Sat Paul at Gurah Jagir Jamotian and Gopal Dass and Ravi Kumar at Aijalmal Kaleeth established under Integrated  Sheep Development Scheme for the year 2020-21.

He exhorted upon the concerned functionaries to make earnest efforts to develop these sectors for growth of the economic profile of the farmers. He asked the concerned Veterinary Assistant Surgeon to provide information regarding success stories of breeders who have been benefitted from  different departmental schemes.

 The department has a major role in development of small ruminants sector to upgrade the socio-economic status of rural masses of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, he said.

Several progressive breeders including Pooja Rani, Sarpanch Jamotian spoke on the occasion and shared their experience with others. They also present their suggestions and issues being faced by the community.
