Shephard goes missing after falling into Nallah in Bandipora village

A 55- year-old shepherd has gone missing after he slipped into a Nallah near Vevan hamlet in North Kashmir’s Bandipora District on Thursday morning.

 

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the shephard identified as Noor-ud-din Chopan, resident of Ajas Bandipora had taken his sheep to forest area for grazing.

 

He said that the Shepherd was with his livestock in Trisangam forest meadow which falls in Vewan hamlet, when he slipped-off and fell into a nearby Nallah.

 

“Rescue operation teams including Police and SDRF have been deputed to the incident spot, however, they have to travel through hilly terrain and non-motorable road which may take a little longer time in rescuing him.”

 

Meanwhile, the locals have also reached the spot to help the rescue teams. (KNS)
