Special thrust being given on vaccination, to eradicate Covid-19 Pandemic: DC Kupwara

KUPWARA, JUNE 28: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today said that every service shall be subordinate to the vaccination and special thrust has been put on vaccination drive to eradicate the Covid-19 pandemic.

The DC was addressing a press conference here today to give details regarding Covid-19 containment measures. He said that Kupwara district recorded Recovery rate of 96 percent, fatality rate of 1.17 percent and positivity rate of 1.3 percent.

Regarding isolation, the DC said that the district has 198 patients in home isolation and 21 in hospital isolation.

He further said that vaccination is going on in a mission mode and 60 percent of the population above 45 years of age has been vaccinated so far in the district. He said that sampling has also been paced up and daily sampling target of 2350 has been set in the district.

The DC appealed to the general public not to lower the guard against the pandemic and continue maintaining of Covid appropriate behavior and SOPs.
