In order to provide electricity to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, there is a need for reforms in the power sector and also the administration must concentrate on the completion of Power Infrastructure Projects.

In this direction recently LG Manoj Sinha dedicated 07 Power Infrastructure Projects worth Rs 10.11 crore to the public in Jammu and Kashmir. The Jammu and Kashmir administration has been working on different projects so that in future people of Jammu and Kashmir especially the industrial set up get uninterrupted power supply.

There have been a lot of problems plaguing the power generation, transmission, and distribution sector in J&K for the last many decades are now being resolved at a faster pace, as the government has taken up a number of schemes and also some projects to give focus to this sector.

There is no doubt that strengthening of infrastructure will help the government’s aim of providing uninterrupted supply to households even in the rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir in future.

Government is committed to quality & reliable supply and the government has urged the majority of households not paying for electricity to come forward and pay their bills & help the reform process.

New projects target 4 districts- Pulwama, Bandipora, Ganderbal & Budgam- benefiting 30,400 households adding 44.2 MVA to the existing capacity and the government is going to take similar projects in the rest of the districts of Jammu and Kashmir so that maximum people can get the benefit of uninterrupted power supply.
