DC Gbl urges for strict adherence to Covid-19 SOPs

GANDERBAL, AUGUST 02: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today urged for strict adherence to Covid SOPs to overcome the resurgence of COVID-19 pandemic in the district.

She said this during a regular press briefing on the current Covid scenario and mitigation efforts put in place in the district.

While giving details, the DC said that the positivity rate has slightly increased as compared to last week. She said last week positivity rate was 0.38 percent which is now 0.44 percent besides positive cases were 44 in the last week which have increased to 60 in this week.

She said that in the entire Kashmir division, the positivity rate has slightly increased in a few districts and Ganderbal is one among such districts, which indicates that people are not following SOPs seriously.

While briefing on importance  of adhering to Covid Appropriate Behaviour, the DC said that the Covid infection cannot be completely mitigated unless every individual do not understand his responsibility adding that  it is collective responsibility of all to follow CAB strictly to mitigate the COVID infection in the district.

Furthermore, she said that no laxity would be tolerated with regard to adherence to Covid SOPs and District Administration has adopted zero tolerance towards non adherence to COVID SOPs and stern action shall be initiated against the violators, she added.

Regarding vaccination campaign, the DC said that almost 31 percent population between 18-44 years of age are given first dose besides over 40 percent population over 45 years of age has also been administered 2nd dose.
