Bungus Valley in Kupwara district is so far an unexplored tourism destination in Kashmir valley. Although locals and some tourists have been visiting this beautiful green meadow, it has a lot of potential not only to come on the tourism map but also to attract tourists when they visit Kashmir.
In order to introduce this tourist destination and to attract tourists here, LG Manoj Sinha recently visited Bungus Valley. He inaugurated ‘Bungus Awaam Mela’ so that visitors come to this valley of Kupwara and people get an economic boost.
The spirit of celebration among the local population is a befitting response to all those who try to vitiate the atmosphere of peace & development, is the message given by Manoj Sinha to the people of the area from Bungus Valley.
Bungus valley has the tourism potential to change the entire socio-economic landscape of the region is the assessment of LG Manoj Sinha when he visited the area and he asked his officers to create the facilities for the tourists so that the locals can also get the benefit of the tourism industry.
He also asked his officers to go for a feasibility study for starting a cable car in Bungus valley as it can be another attraction after Gulmarg for the tourists to come and enjoy a ride in the cable car.
