Prisoner dies in Anantnag, ‘officials say brought dead to hospital’

Anantnag: A prisoner, who was lodged in Anantnag jail, has died at GMC Anantnag after brief illness, an official said on Saturday.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, son of Abdul Ahad Khan of Anchidora, who was booked in NDPS case and was in Kheribal jail since February, died at GMC Anantnag in this afternoon.

He said his health condition worsened on Saturday morning, following which the jail authorities took him to GMC Anantnag where doctors declared him brought dead.

Incharge Superintendent of Kheribal Jail, Sheroz Ahmad told KNO that Khan needed hospitalization this morning. However, he died at the hospital, Sheroz said—(KNO)
