In order to give the agriculture sector focal attention, the JK government in the recent past has given a lot of push to this sector so that there is a turnaround in the rural economy.

In this direction recently Lt Governor Manoj Sinha handed over sanction letters for 100 tractors to the farmers, 1035 threshers for Panchayats in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that mechanization of farming will lead to sweeping changes and help farmers produce more and it will be the game changer in the rural economy of Jammu and Kashmir.

In the recent past the government has tried to ensure efficient use of seed technologies, high density plantation, nutrient management, widespread adoption of integrated dairy farming schemes to make J&K Agricultural Powerhouse.

During this distribution of sanction letters, Manoj Sinha said that Agriculture & horticulture are key drivers of J&K’s economic growth; Farmers adopting cash crops have witnessed steady increase in income and it will also help them to devise future strategies for the economic growth.

Government providing facilities like cold storage, market linkages, food processing units, online organic certification to transform the agriculture sector, has helped a lot of famers to get more money for their produce in the markets.
