Dir Horticulture Jammu reviews progress of development activities in districts

JAMMU, OCTOBER 16: Director Horticulture Jammu   Ram Savak  today chaired a meeting of Chief Horticulture Officers and  Manager–cum-chemists  of Jammu Division to review the progress of various developmental activities (Physical & Financial) being carried out during the current financial year in Jammu Division.

During the course of meeting, a threadbare discussion was held on various agenda points and the officers appraised the chair about the status of various works, expenditure incurred- liabilities and progress made in the implementation of various developmental schemes viz: MIDH, ATMA, PMDP, PMKSY, RKVY, TBO and progress regarding production of quality planting material in the Departmental Nurseries.

He impressed upon all the officers to expedite the works undertaken for the development of the nurseries under CAPEX, MIDH and PMDP schemes of the department, so that the works may be completed well in time.

The Director instructed the officers to organise awareness camps, Kissan Goshties, etc. to ensure effective implementation of departmental schemes for the ultimate benefit of the fruit growers.

Further, the Director Horticulture laid emphasis on meeting the allotted targets under all the schemes for the year 2021-22. He stressed on better utilization of funds and also directed them to identify the areas for spring season plantation in temperate areas. As the season for planting of strawberries is going on, he asked the officers to achieve the targets in full.

Among others, Joint Director Horticulture Jammu, Dy. Director Planning, Dy. Director Horticulture (central), Divisional Manager Plant Protection Workshop, Horticulture Inf. &  Publicity Officer, and other officers were also present in the meeting.
