Director Agriculture Kashmir reviews implementation of CSSs in North Kashmir districts

BARAMULLA, NOVEMBER 10: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSSs) in Baramulla and Bandipora districts of North Kashmir.

The meeting reviewed scheme wise achievements and implementation of various CSSs of the Department.

The meeting was informed in detail about Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna, National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture, National Mission of Agriculture Extension and Technology, National Food Security Mission, Soil Health Card Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Fasall Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Seenchayee Yojana, PM-Kissan and other schemes currently being implemented by the Department.

Addressing the meeting, the Director said that the department had a satisfied Kharief season and is expecting good results for the Rabi season as well. He said the Department this year has initiated a valley wide drive to promote the cultivation of oil-seeds (mustard) under national mission on edible oils so that more uncovered areas could be brought under this commercially important crop.

He said the Department is expeditiously working on the Prime Minister’s vision of doubling the farmer’s income by 2022. He asked the concerned officers/officials to work on a mission mode to achieve this ambitious goal.

The meeting was attended by Joint Director Agriculture Inputs Farooq Ahmad Bhat, Chief Agriculture Officer Baramulla, Chief Agriculture Officer Bandipora and other senior officers of both the districts.
