After the recent snowfalls, the government of Jammu and Kashmir tried to restore the essential services in Kashmir and in this direction they had set up control rooms in all the districts while senior officers were monitoring the situation from Srinagar.

After the snowfall not only senior officers visited all the prominent Srinagar hospitals but they also monitored the restoration of electric supply in many areas as hundreds of transformers and electric poles were damaged in the heavy snowfall especially in the higher reaches of Kashmir.

Recently Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan took stock of the restoration of basic services in Kashmir division and visited various places to get first hand appraisal of the same.

He took stock of the restoration of the power supply, stock and supply of fuel, snow clearance, dewatering and other essential services.

During his visit to the Grid station Bemina, he enquired about the position of restoration of power supply in Kashmir division.

He was informed at Bemina by the Chief Engineer that most of the power supply has been restored and only few feeders are under transit fault but that will be restored very soon.

While complimenting the PDD for restoring the power in almost all areas in record time, he directed them to restore supply in areas like Karnah which have witnessed heavy snowfall.
