Another Kashmiri student booked, students association appeals the students not to upload provocative content

While another student who is studying in one of the colleges in Madhya Pradesh has been booked for writing provocative content on social media, J&K Students Association has appealed to Kashmiri students studying outside Kashmir not to write provocative content on social media and not make their families suffer.

In a statement to the media the National Spokesperson of the Students Association, Nasir Khuehami said that all the students who have gone for the studies to different educational institutions across the country should refrain from such activities so that they do not face arrests.

According to KNT, quoting the  National Spokesperson of the Students Association statement on Thursday said, as follows.

He said that a minor Kashmiri student studying in one of the educational institutions in Madhya Pradesh allegedly posted an objectionable video on social media regarding the ‘Pulwama Attack’ saying the killing of security forces was the revenge for Babri Masjid demolition. “A complaint has filed on behalf of college against the student and the said student is presently in Madhya Pradesh Police custody, Khuehami said while quoting Principal of the College Vijay Jain.

He has been arrested and booked under sedition. The mobile phone and laptop of the student have been seized as well, he informed.

While condemning the act of the student, the spokesperson has urged all Kashmiri students to focus on their education and not to write provocative content on social media to add fuel to the fire.

“We request students to avoid debates and don’t get provoked. Please be calm and don’t invite trouble,” the Association said, adding sentiments of everyone should be respected.

The J&K Students Association however said that the sedition is a very harsh punishment as it will ruin the career of the student.
