Gurez school without teachers, basic infra

Students and staff of government boys higher secondary school Dawar in Gurez are complaining about lack of basic facilities and shortage of staff in the school.

“The school lacks drinking water, lavatories, infrastructure and boundary wall,” parents of wards admitted in the school told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

Students said that the school lacks subject teachers especially science stream.

“We are facing immense hardships due to non-availability of these facilities,” said a student Imran Ahmad.

He said that the school building has developed cracks and in case of any natural disaster occurs, the building can collapse and the school is also without proper boundary wall.

Arif, another student alleged that there is no washroom facilities in the school.

He said that their repeated pleas have fallen flat as the officials are not paying any heed.

Meanwhile, officials said that they will collect all the information and try to address those issues immediately—(KNO)
