Commissioner Secretary Revenue holds interactive session with JKAS trainees at IMPARD

SRINAGAR, JUNE 9: Commissioner Secretary Revenue, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, today held an interactive session with JKAS probationary officer trainees here at Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development (IMPARD).

Pertinently, JKAS probationers of 2020 batch are presently undergoing Phase-I Induction Training Course at IMPARD, Srinagar. Their induction training in 2020 was cut short mid-way due to outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic and their services were requisitioned on emergency basis by the UT government for virus prevention duties.

Director General, JK IMPARD, Saurabh Bhagat, organized this interactive session for the benefit of JKAS trainees so that they learn from the experience of one of the most senior Revenue Department functionary, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Commissioner Secretary Revenue.

Addressing the trainees, Bidhuri impressed upon them to maintain high level of integrity and carry out their official responsibilities strictly as per laid down rules and regulations. He further impressed upon them to ensure exploitation of technological tools in maintenance of revenue records so that transparency and efficiency become prevalent order in their offices which in turn will ease the life of common man.

Bidhuri expressed pleasure over the fact that maintenance of land records in J&K is the best in India which has helped in ensuring transparency and proper updation of these records.

He informed the trainees that the government of J&K has ensured further transparency and public satisfaction by initiating new measures in revenue department. These initiatives included introduction of a tri-lingual Land Records Pass Book, which he said, has been translated into 22 Indian languages and made available to people of the country in accordance with the languages they understand better and 24/7 revenue department helpline.

He further informed them that about 13,71,144 persons have accessed the revenue department land records website. He said that the land records pass book will ensure that the common man will remain informed about the latest status of his property holdings. It is in this backdrop that the government has started working on the themes: “aap ki zamin aap ki nigrani and suchit rahe, sachet rahe” with the purpose of keeping public informed about the latest status of their properties to ensure safety of these properties for the benefit of common man.

Director General expressed gratitude to V K Bidhuri for facilitating the JKAS Probationary Officer Trainees with such an enlightening session.
