The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has adopted a new sports policy and is trying to give the platform to all the forms of talent across the place.
In the recent past many indoor stadiums, multipurpose halls and other such infrastructure has been completed in the sports sector by the government.
Recently Lt Governor Manoj Sinha spoke about the achievements of sportspersons from the UT who made their mark at the national and international arena.
He expressed hope that people will wholeheartedly contribute towards nation building with full potential and our sporting talent will bring laurels to the nation and the UT in the world of sports.
Sports sector in the J&K is witnessing rapid development. World class facilities and coaching is being extended to the youth at grass root level to showcase their talent in various sports disciplines.
Sh Sarmad Hafeez, Secretary Tourism, in his welcome address threw light on the measures taken for the upgradation and renovation of Bakshi Stadium, and further highlighted the achievements made in terms of sports infrastructure and facilities in the region, besides nurturing the sporting talent and providing them platforms at national and international level.
