DCs asked to expedite process, complete disbursement of compensation

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 15: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar today reviewed the land acquisition process for Delhi-Katra Expressway project, Jammu Poonch National Highway and Army firing range.

The Delhi-Katra expressway corridor will cover as many as 229 villages in four major districts of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir including Kathua, Samba, Jammu and Reasi.

The Expressway, in the Union Territory, will be 130-Km in length with 4 packages namely package 14, 15, 16 and 17. Once the project completes, the national capital will be directly connected to the holy town Katra the base camp of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi.

The Div Com discussed in detail the status of land acquisition. It was informed that acquisition process is on and almost completed.

He asked DC Jammu and Reasi to be in regular touch with Forest department and resolve forest land issues, JDA land issues, if any for early completion of the acquisition.

The Div Com directed the Deputy Commissioners of Kathua, Samba and Jammu to expedite the land acquisition process for smooth execution of work on the prestigious project. He also asked the concerned DCs to disburse the compensation amount simultaneously.

The Div Com also reviewed land acquisition  for Jammu Poonch National Highway and Army Firing Ranges.

The Div Com reviewed each land acquisition case pending in the districts. The concerned DCs informed that the process of land acquisition and issuance of awards is in progress.

The Div Com instructed DC Rajouri and Poonch to expedite land acquisition process for timely completion of land acquisition and disbursement of compensation.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Avny Lavasa; Vice Chairman, JDA, Pankaj Magotra; Assistant Commissioner Central, Pritam Lal; Engineers of NHAI while Deputy Commissioners alongwith concerned officers of Kathua, Samba, Rajouri, Poonch and Reasi participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
