Poor connectivity
The J & K administration is trying to provide better connectivity to the people living in rural areas especially near the borders.
Recently Div Com reviewed action plans of Mobile service providers to extend connectivity to shadow areas of Jammu division
He asked the District Administration to facilitate execution of telecom infrastructure development projects in their respective districts.
He said that facilitating connectivity in the far flung, difficult and border areas was the top priority of the Government to improve the quality of life of the local people as well as those working in these areas.
He apprised the Div Com about the uncovered areas of their respective districts and the service providers informed about the action plan for each area.
The Div Com directed the DCs to coordinate with the service providers and to facilitate the work on infrastructural development projects. He also instructed the service providers to share the updated list of the pending cases with the concerned DCs so that the process can be expedited.
The Div Com asked the DCs to identify the shadow areas in their respective districts and share the list with the mobile service providers so that necessary steps could be taken for ensuring mobile connectivity in these areas. He also instructed DCs to hold a meeting with service providers and seek an action plan for installation of towers in these areas.
