Dulloo reviews allocation of funds, projects to  allied wings of APD under HADP

JAMMU, APRIL 12: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Agriculture Production Department (APD), Atal Dulloo, today chaired a meeting to review allocation of funds and  projects to different allied wings of APD under Holistic Agriculture Development Plan (HADP) at Civil Secretariat here.

The meeting was attended by Vice Chancellor SKUAST-K, Secretary in APD, Director General, Sheep Husbandry Kashmir, Director General, Sericulture, Director Horticulture Jammu/Kashmir, MD JKHPMC, Director Animal Husbandry Jammu/Kashmir, Director Sheep Husbandry Jammu, Director Horticulture, Planning and Marketing, Director Agriculture Jammu/Kashmir, Director Fisheries and other concerned officers of the department both in person and through video conferencing.

During the meeting, Dulloo held a comprehensive assessment of various agriculture projects and schemes being implemented by the department. He delved upon the officers identify existing bottlenecks in implementation of these initiatives.

ACS highlighted the importance of agriculture as a key driver of UT’s economy and emphasized the need for sustained efforts to boost agriculture productivity and rural livelihoods. He directed the officials to ensure that the allocated funds are utilized effectively and that the projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe.

During the meeting, Dulloo interacted with all the departmental heads and sought their feedback and suggestions for better planning of projects and efficient allocation of funds to each project. He emphasized upon the officers to work on deliverables and include the components of all schemes in these deliverables which the departments need to achieve for the current year.

ACS further impressed upon the officers that the welfare of farmers as well as the nomadic populace should be given prime focus while formulating different plans under HADP. He asked the Animal Husbandry and Sheep Husbandry departments to focus on strengthening of veterinary hospitals and shelters for nomadic people during migration period.

The HoDs of all the allied wings of APD briefed the ACS about the progress on their respective projects and plans.
