NIA chargesheets three slain Hizb men, 3 OGWs

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday filed a chargesheet in the murder of BJP state secretary Anil Parihar and his brother Ajeet Parihar by suspected Hizbul Mujahideen militants in Kishtwar district in 2018.

The Central agency filed the chargesheet before the NIA Special Court in Jammu against three slain Hizb militants for murdering the Parihar brothers and three others for providing logistic support to the militants for carrying out the murder.

“The NIA today filed a chargesheet in the murder of Anil Parihar (state secretary of J&K BJP) and his brother Ajeet Parihar of Kishtwar by terrorists belonging to the banned terrorist organisation Hizbul Mujahideen,” said an NIA spokesperson.

The accused are facing charges of murder and have been booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and Arms Act.

The chargesheet has been filed against Osama-bin-Javid, Haroon Abbas and Zahid Hussain, all slain Hizb militants, and Nisar Ahmed Sheikh, Nishad Ahmed Butt and Azad Hussain Bagwan.

As per the NIA investigation, the Hizb militants, who murdered the Parihar brothers, were killed during gunfights in Ramban and Doda districts in September 2019 and January 2020, respectively.

The Parihar brothers were shot point-blank outside their house on November 1, 2018. Nisar, Nishad and Azad were arrested on November 20, 2019.

“The three accused persons used to provide logistic support to the three terrorists, who had committed the murders of the Parihar brothers,” the NIA spokesperson said.
